Been getting info on a new, one-part epoxy called "poxy coat." Just wondering if any of you crafters know about it or have tried it? Seems like it might be good stuff...

It seems they are looking for distributors as well.....

Thanks Per for the info, I'd never heard of this stuff before so I just went and looked at their website, the msds sheets, and even called and spoke with tjheir technical rep who reccomends the poxy coat II -clear, in gloss or satin, available online through a sister company at www.surfacecoatingsllc.com on their menu you'll find it under poxy coat clear, (the poxy coat II listings are all color coats). They sell two gallons for $170. The msds sheets and their rep both imply that indeed it would be a safe and appropriate coating for instruments.
I won't be investing in any more coating product for awhile, but if anyone tries this out, let me know what you think of it.

Hmmm, the problem I have with "one part" epoxs is that once the can is
opened, the clock is ticking. Which is fine if you want to coat a floor or wall,
but not if you only need a few ounces for a didge. After about a week the stuff will skin
over pretty bad and not be usable. Not really cost effective unless your going
to use a whole quart at a time :) Plus every one I've used smells like death (with
      or without a mask).
      just my .02

there's a product called bloxygen that can be added when you open the can to prevent the problem you speak of. I've never used a one part epoxy so I've got no experiance there. I really doubt this stuff could actually smell bad based on the lab rat tests, but once again, I'm seeing all this info for the first time. The only benefit I can imagine with it would be the inability to get the mix wrong, and a greater ease of use. It's pretty danged expensive though, I buy mine 4 gallons at a time, delivered, for $120.
