Hey gang;
Being that Tribe.net seems to be down as much as it is up these days; I would like to suggest that we all reconnect over at facebook.
I do not want to lose the connections that I have made here if Tribe goes down for good.
I have started a "Group" there called "didgeridoo tribe".
The description reads:
A continuation of the Didgeridoo group, formerly on Tribe.net. A place to discuss all things didgeridoo including, but not limited to: Instruments, techniques, performers, and festivals.
If you are leary of Facebook, believe me, it has crossed over. It is no longer just high schoolers and endless games. It is quickly becoming the premiere online social networking site.
No pressure, and you certainly don't gotta - but I hope to see most, if not all, of you there.
I will cross-post this to several of the didge tribes here.
Peace
Jay

Re: Didgeridoo Tribe
Tue, September 30, 2008 - 3:27 PMHey Jay,
Nice to hear from ya.....I signed up on facebook....had a presence there but never done much (same with myspace)...maybe this'll get things moving? I know what ya mean about this tribe spending an awful lot of down time.....kinda makes ya wonder about its stability... -

Re: Didgeridoo Tribe
Wed, October 1, 2008 - 12:53 PMI think if you wait a few weeks things will probably work themselves out. I don't know what part was broken down but reconfiguring servers is a pain in the ass, even if you have backups. facebook...bleh i think i threw up in my mouth a little bit. -

Re: Didgeridoo Tribe
Wed, October 1, 2008 - 4:48 PMI really like tribe.net, but its unreliable and who the hell knows whats going on with those people. I got a few emails from other tribes I belong too that are moving as well.

Re: Didgeridoo Tribe
Thu, October 2, 2008 - 7:26 AMI joined up with facebook. A little different to have everyone's real names and personal info there. Stumbling around some of the didgeridoo groups there, I see a TON of bad information. Seems to have an awkward interface IMO. I'll give it a go, but prefer didgeridootribe.com despite it's growing pains it's had. Overall, I think each social network, forum, email list, etc. provides something. Just a bit time consuming keeping up with all the options.
See ya all here, there, and everywhere :-)

Re: Didgeridoo Tribe
Fri, October 3, 2008 - 10:39 AMThe other tribe (didgeridootribe.com) forum has been down for a couple days now.....anyone know what's going on with that?? Facebook is ok but to me the format is a bit clumsy for "forum" type postings.....maybe I just haven't figgered out how to use it yet...? -

Re: Didgeridoo Tribe
Fri, October 3, 2008 - 2:09 PMHey Per! I noticed that also about the didgeridootribe site being down. Maybe my positive mention here brought it down! :-) Hopefully they are working on it. No contact info on the main page or in a registry lookup. So, hope they at least know about the problem!

Re: Didgeridoo Tribe
Fri, October 3, 2008 - 8:16 PMI'm not the biggest facebook fan either. Everyone I know is on it now anyway. I love Tribe.net for many reasons but if they keep up this crap then we have no choice. -

Re: Didgeridoo Tribe
Sat, October 4, 2008 - 11:54 AMwhat I don't like about endless new sites popping up is that everybody gets dispersed and the sense of community gets lost, unless you monitor the 3 tribes on tribe.net + didgeridootribe + serious sticks forum + ididj forum + facebook + whatever else. I try to dedicate 27 hours each day to monitoring these sites but for some reason I just can't keep up so why bother? I did sign up on facebook but I haven't seen how any forum type postings work there, mostly it just looks like a directory for people to list who their friends are. So far I'm just confused by facebook but I guess I'll keep giving it a try... -

Yeah, me too Chad...
Sometimes I even try to work occasionally. ;) -
