Ondrej Smeykal U.S. tour

Ondrej will be coming back in March for a 'full U.S.' tour. I'm booking his shows, working it around a few key shows already in negotiation. We'll be looking to add a bunch more dates for concerts and workshops. If you want Ondrej to come to your hometown and think it can draw enough of a crowd to be profitable contact me through e-mail or over the phone and we'll see what we can set up. chadbutler@bhumsiva.com (503)394-2362. We'll be starting early march on the east coast, moving through the midwest on an undetermined route, down to Arizona for a show on the 14th, then it's west coast time until the end of the month.       There's no schedule anywhere. Ondrej writes a blog in czech everynow and then and thats about it on his site. I guess we have to email chad to see where Ondrej is playing.

        As for now the east coast is pretty slim, with those dates at Chucks school being the only thing really nailed down. I tried to get a show in Philly for ya Todd but have had a hard time communicating with the club there I was going with. After PA we'll be trekking to Colorado, our shows there are Denver (tentative) on the 7th, Colorado Springs on the 8th, Villa Grove on the 9th, Salida on the 10th. After Colorado we're into NM looking at shows in Sante Fe and Albuquerque on the 11th and 12th (not necessarily in that order, these shows are still coming together). After that we're headed to Lake Havasu, Arizona for the Breath of Life festival on the 14th- these are morning shows, so get there the day before if you're traveling from afar. After AZ. we're headed to L.A. where Will Thoren and the boys at L.A. Outback are nailing down a venue and date. It'll be early in that week of the 16th -20th. There are also tentative shows in Casper (Mendo), Ashland, Portland, Seattle. We'll definately be in Montana on the 26th. I'll have internet access and can keep ya updated as it comes more into focus. Having dealt with my mothers passing during the organizational period for this tour was challenging, but enough will happen to make it all worthwhile and a good time will be had by all. If any of you live along this route and either want to put together a house concert or even just open your floor to a couple tired travellers we'd love to visit you along the way.

      Beginner - workshop focuses on development of proper circular breathing techniques.

        last two dates

        the last two dates of this tour will be March 28th at the Missoula Downtown Dance Collective, Missoula, Montana. 6:30pm
        and on tuesday March 31st in the Portland Oregon area a house concert at 5761 s.e. Harrison st. Milwaukie, OR. (cross streets Stanley and King) show is at 7pm, come early for a potluck dinner.

          cornell winery was a real fun concert, and a lot of familiar faces, wish i had taken more pictures though. i spent that whole morning going along the coast playing didge and letting people know ondrej was in town, a lot had heard of ondrej through youtube but weren't aware he was doing a tour. in some ways it was nice having less people to get crowded around but i think another tour would do very nicely. after giving ondrej a few months to recover from non stop shows of course =)

            Are any of these shows going to get on youtube? The 2008 Ondrej perfomance at JT never showed up.

              I know some of last week's Portland performance was recorded on video but it was a dark setting so it's mostly audio. I also got audio of his whole performance but need to talk to him before releasing any of this. I'll see what I can do about video for this week's Portland gig. My girlfriend got to hop in the tour van with Chad and Ondrej for a whirlwind tour of Montana - she's reporting some pretty amazing scenery combined with mesmerizing and trance-inducing long Ondrej sets and having trouble standing up for a long time after... wish I could have snuck in there as well!
