once upon a time, there was a very important corroboree taking place.
The most important part besides peole knowing when to gather, was of course the collection of great logs and kindling to bring fire spirit.
The fire was buulya (sp?) ....into the night were very special song and dance, and of course fireside yarns.. as more logs were added to this roaring fire, a very new sound vibrated, spirit call, the intense upward draught from the fire was shooting through the hollow log, didgeridoo was born.....yay..made sense to me.

Actually, I had a didge for a while. One time was in my mate Jonny's loungeroom, thinking I was clever, making tunes with my new didge..I realized after a while he would leave the room when I played. Upon asking him If he didn't like the sounds I was creating, i thought I was ok 'at it', he quietly let me know that "didgeridoo not for weena. Especially not white weena. Dangerous."
Even though I was ignorant to this fact, I still felt such shame, at doing such a thing in a respected elders' home. I now have been given reasons for this law.

Hi Breeze, are you talking about johnny didj from northern territory?
i am a didj player from sydney, your theory is actually pretty close to
how the didj came about in one or a few areas.
as every tribe had a different language and names for the didj, there are many different stories as to how the didj was discovered.
    jumma.
