Does anybody know where the largest didgeridoo in the world is?
I thought it would be kinda cool if the crafters at the JT would try to break a world record by making the largest hand crafted didge. Just for shits and giggles.

Re: Biggest didge ever
Mon, March 31, 2008 - 8:59 PMI don't remember where... but I remember seeing a pic of a giant didgeridoo, where you sat in the bell, and the mouthpiece curved back around so you could play it sitting tin the bell. No clue if it was actually playable... but it looked cool. -

Re: Biggest didge ever
Mon, April 7, 2008 - 11:26 PMNot long ago, Tyler Spencer came to Seattle with about a 10 foot didge he had been working on. He played it for a concert and it was a pretty amazing stick. A low F that shook the floor. I was honored to give it a go after the concert and it played a lot easier than you would have thought. Don't know if that qualifies but it's certainly the longest I've seen or played so far.
Cheers,

Re: Biggest didge ever
Tue, April 8, 2008 - 1:58 PMHello everybody,
Check out Dubravko Lapaine's site, (I dont have the link right now) there is a post about him on this tribe net under tthe heading "Ondrej Copycat" didjeridoo.tribe.net/thread/...52c6cc28 He has an enormous didge which appears way bigger than 15 ft. The bell alone seems 6' ++. He gets up in a little cage type stand and plays it from there. -

Re: Biggest didge ever
Tue, April 8, 2008 - 3:46 PMwhen Ondrej comes this summer he'll be bringing some sticks with him that are around 10 feet and play in LOW D and LOW E. I assume he'll spark a whole new fire under our butts and cause a whole new rush towards super low instruments. I've made a few super low ones like that. Robin Palmer has one of 'em. When he picked it up from me he stopped in Eugene on the way hOMe to see a Reeble Jar show and afterwards, we're talking late late night, Tyler Spencer is trying out Robins new didge on the tail gate of the truck and a couple cops rode up on bikes. Tyler thought he was in trouble for being so loud but the cops heard it from a distance, were impressed, and sought it out so they could enjoy it more. He banged out another good long tune to their insistance and there was magic in the air. -

Re: Biggest didge ever
Tue, April 8, 2008 - 4:18 PMAll this low didj stuff is like talking about food....yer makin me hungry for another low didj!! I have a low G (Peter Spoeker 9' yucca) but I have craved a low F for some time. One of these days I'm gonna see about halving the low G so i can carry it around more often.
OK Chad & others...better be bringing some low sticks to JT...and make 'em in 2 sections please;-) -

Re: Biggest didge ever
Tue, April 8, 2008 - 8:30 PMlast time i talked to eric in portland is working on a twenty foot oak... one of the first few didjs i made was about thirteen feet....i couldn't get it to play nor could i get it on the plane when i move west...so i trimed it down till it would play for me...seems the challenge of a big didj is to get it to play the fundamental and not on the toot...
