Greetings and Hello...

First post on this tribe , So hi to every one! really wonderful tribe here!!!!

I've been playing the Didj for a while but not to much in the last year or so since my Agave Dream Pipe got smashed in a car door, Ouch! ... it was such a clean sounding Didj perfect pitch and easy to make all kinds of sounds with.
I loved it very much and haven't been able to find its equal since. So Im wondering if someone can point me into a direction or knows of one who makes Agave didjeridoo's Dreamy Pipes etc... Say from Arizona kind....
I do have a eucalyptus Didj and love it.
I also am looking to start making as well . So If too anyone needs a helper or an assistant in the makings of all types of Didjs but would like to focus on Agave Didj's. Im more than happy to donate time in exchange of learning...

I live in Santa Barbara Ca. and Would so appreciate any help or advice in this...

Also I would love to jam with anyone open to it :) looken to get back into it. :)

Much Blessings to you all...

Geoff Frost does some great Agave and guord didges... many of his instruments are available through the Didgeridoostore:

Also, Jeff Lohr works on agave now and then, he had a couple nice sticks available at JT this year, and may be making some more in his upcooming production schedule:

I hope this info helps, let us know if you have any other questions!

<By the way... any chance you can repair your didge?>

You might want to start off making yucca didges. Agave is kind of scarce here in california. Yucca is all over the place. I can tell you where I get some really good yucca not all that far from Santa Barbra. Go to Santa Maria and head east on the 166. About 20 or so minutes from the 101 there are lots and lots of them. Might have to do some hill climbing to get to them though. And if you don't mind driving a a bit further there is a river bed with very nice ones growing rather strait, and on flat ground even! You will quickly learn yucca doesn't like to grow on flat ground ;)

I understand and that sounds right.... Thanks for setting me in a good way. It's a bit of a thing exposing your self in front of a community of people that are aware and knowledgeable about all this. I have some knowledge but Really Im a bit Green in making Didgeridoos dream pipes etc... and protocol . I do believe in being in a good way with the land and when Taking from her To remember to give back ... Weather it be with a good prayer or offering . I take this all in a sacred way and am very grateful for any help along the way . Therese Never a shortage of learning and I am one to receive constructive criticism and good teachings in a good way. I welcome it. And this Is why Im so grateful for this and other Tribes. Such an amazing amount of knowledge available! And thanks for not being Judgmental to me in my naivety to this subject...
I will look into were you speak of . Thanks Brian for your help... sounds like a good adventure in learning more about all this.

I was thinking of trying other local agave as well like the big blue grays etc.. . and using the more top narrow part of the flower steam.???? anyone try this before??? seems like it could work as well .

I was planing on using re-bar and a fire to heat up the metal and a coper or brace pipe once deep inside the Yucca to blow air on the fiber that the red hot re-bar is burning to hollow out the center inside. A friend showed me this tecneek back on Big island... I dont like cutting the stalk in half but am not opposed to it . But that way doesn't feel so how I would like to go about it. . I prefer keeping it all together.

          With Gratitude and respect

          Sunny

Working with Yucca sounds Right . I will look into were you are talking . Sounds like a worthy mission.
