Just wonderin how many of you out there are using these forums. It seems like there is less and less posts as time goes on.

yep, as I stated before, the more options that open up the less concentration of community. Pretty soon it'll be common enough that nobody will care at all.

I plan to be here until tribe.net or the internet goes down, whichever comes first. Most of the info on these forms is not useful for me but then those rare posts come along that open up a whole new avenue.

          Maximum respect to ya'll!

It would be a bad day in didgeridoo land when these forums dry up. I posted 2 posts about Ondrej Smeykal, one about his performance and another about his workshops. I got only a few responses on the workshop and none on the performance. I'm getting the feeling that the most of the regs have given up on Tribe.net.

I'm here as well. 'Tis been a busy time but things are starting to settle a bit.....I think.

Anyhow, I think you're right, Todd. Seems like a lot of folks have given up on Tribe mostly out of frustration of it being down so much. I love coming here and seeing what the new posts are even though I may not always have the time or the words to reply. It WOULD be sad to see the community become fragmented.

              Peace, Pam

i'm still here, it is less common for me to surf over since half the time it was down though. meetup.com seems to be busier these days with drum circles and didgeridoo groups, but its not the same. with everyone on tribe geographically spread out its really cool to have our feelers out for some events or experiences that are worth the flight or road trip to join our tribemates in the fest.

Facebook is too combersome and I would hate life if everyone went to Serious Sticks. We need to email everyone to come back here.
                  • This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.

Nothing beats the old mills list, but that was way before Tribe. I guess this is next best, though 4 or 5 separate didj-related tribes dilutes it quite a bit.

Anyone here other than Chad and Per who have been around the didj scene for a while?
I'm talking JT in Joshua Tree, Allan Shockley's Bday parties in Tuscon, Dave Crowder and John Madill's Summer Solstice gatherings... oh, those were the days!

Tom, I posted a response but it never made it.....the tribe went down again right afterwards so I suppose that's. That's one of the reasons I don't participate much. Every time one of these forums goes down, it causes some damage, and the longer one is down, the greater the damage. It never ceases to amaze me how often these "unscheduled maintainances" take place. There are a couple other forums that have never been down to my knowledge, but their focus is a bit beyond my interests.

Hi Tom, thanks for the reference..
Those were good times, and I had about as much fun as I've ever had at those gatherings..
Guys I'm so into Afro-Cuban music right now that I hardly ever get the didj out anymore.. I'm still into music, so that hasn't changed,, but the continent of study, and primary instruments moved...

Well Dave, the laws of the land and didjeridu clearly state that you must hand over all yer didjes to us so they can be brought back into resonance with the vibrational fields of the mothership.;-)

Hi Per,, Several of my didjs are up for grabs! I'm just planning on keep 3-5, and that leaves 4-6 that need new owners..
And folks, these are 1 in amillion didjs,, every one of them!

                          Dave

                            Jay here;
Yeah - my intent with the facebook group was not to form yet *another* list, but merely to have a backup in case this one went down permanently. We've done this with several of my other groups, and I feel good knowing that I won't lose contact with all of my online friends if one server should bite the dust. That being said, I have no investment in facebook or any other online service. Whatever works is good.

Dave & Per; can you put a list up of your instruments?
Like I really need *another* didgeridoo - but of course, I'm always interested particularly nice instruments.

                            Jay
